Our specialist will come to you to take an impression of your ear, or you can come to our location in Waalwijk. During this appointment, we take the time to check for any conditions or excessive earwax. For example, you may need to have your ears cleaned before we can make a proper impression. We would then schedule a new appointment.
To protect your eardrum, we insert a small piece of foam into your ear. Besides protection, this also provides insight into the depth of the ear canal.
To create a good impression of your ear, a two-component paste is injected into your ear. This cold paste does not stick to the inside of your ear but releases easily. The paste takes about 5 minutes to harden.
Once the paste has hardened, our specialist carefully removes the impression from your ear. We record all the necessary information, and the impression is sent to our factory. Here, we manufacture your hearing protection and ensure that it is equipped with the correct filter.
When your custom fit earplugs are ready, we will give you a call. Then we can either send them to you or you can pick them up at one of our locations. Here, we double-check if the earplugs fit well, and we go over how to use and clean them. The earplugs last for about 2 years because your ears continue to change throughout your life. They may also start to “leak” sound, meaning they are no longer working optimally. We recommend having your earplugs and hearing checked annually.
